Capsella Combo has been formulated with a specific view to its astringent and anti-hemorrhagic qualities, which make it especially valuable in treating excessive or abnormal menstrual flow or diarrhea. The ingredients in this formula – wild geranium, shepherd’s purse, yarrow and chastetree - have hundreds of years of traditional use behind them. Modern clinical and laboratory work confirms that they effectively address the following conditions:
• Excessive or abnormal menstrual flow
• Haemorrhage
• Diarrhoea
The herbs in this formula work together in a delicately meshed synergy, each with its complementary strengths. Wild geranium is strongly astringent and anti-hemorrhagic, while shepherd’s purse has scientifically verified anti-coagulant properties. Yarrow is similarly anti-coagulant, but also has pronounced astringent qualities. Meanwhile chastetree provides the body with a natural hormone-modulating dimension. When faced with hemorrhagic conditions or diarrhoea, consider our carefully formulated Capsella Combo as a natural therapeutic alternative. Those experiencing menorrhagia associated with fibroids might consider using this product in conjunction with our Hepato-DR™ formula.
Administration: 25-35 drops (0.8-1.2 ml) in 30 ml (1 oz.) of water, every three hours; for dysfunctional uterine bleeding, take ½ teaspoon (75 drops) 3 times daily for 10 days preceding the onset of menstruation; for diarrhoea and bloody diarrhoea, use 30-40 drops in a little water 3 times daily. As this condition improves, reduce dosage slowly.
Contra-indications and Cautions:
Do not take when pregnant. Excessive bleeding is a condition that requires careful diagnosis; if the cause of the bleeding is not known, seek the advice of a qualified health-care practitioner. Capsella Combo is not meant to be taken in place of, but rather as an adjunct to, allopathic treatment.
Available in bottle sizes of 50ml, 100ml, and 250 ml.
A NOTE ON TINCTURES
Tinctures are more readily absorbed by the body and have a high degree of bio-availability. As well, they have a long shelf life.
Sometimes people ask us why tinctures are alcohol-based. There are very good reasons. Alcohol is critically important in the extraction of an herb's medicinal ingredients. It also helps to stabilize and preserve them. Alcohol is the ideal carrier substance, conveying the therapeutic goodness of the herb to the body. In itself, too, science has proven that alcohol enhances the immune system and its defences.
As for the amount of alcohol taken in an average dose of tincture, you’ll be surprised to learn that it’s about the same as what you’d find in an overly ripe banana!
Tinctures remain the most practical way to take advantage of the amazing, health-giving power of herbs.
