Great for inflammatory skin conditions
This all-purpose salve is a wonderful and highly effective herbal alternative to cortisone cream. Infused in extra virgin olive oil, the unique combination of herbs in Red Clover Plus Salve work together synergistically to relieve the itchiness, discomfort, and redness associated with conditions of skin inflammation. The therapeutic action of Red Clover Plus Salve also helps the skin recover from minor cuts, wounds, and non-specific dermatological conditions. Not only does Red Clover Plus Salve soothe as it heals, reducing pain while restoring the skin to health, but it also has antiseptic, antibacterial, and antifungal properties. Red Clover Plus Salve is used primarily:

The following is a brief explanation of the individual herbs and the rationale for their use:
Red clover – The British Herbal Compendium specifies that red clover is indicated externally for inflammatory skin conditions such as rashes, eczema and psoriasis.
Burdock – Like red clover, this herb is an alterative that heals conditions of the skin. Priest and Priest consider inflammatory skin conditions a primary indication for use externally.
Black walnut – North American Indians used the hulls of the black walnut for ringworm, inflamed skin, sores and "the itch".
Echinacea – The WHO confirms that its topical use for inflammatory skin conditions is supported by clinical data.
Eucalyptus – Eucalyptus is a traditional topical antimicrobial herb.
Calendula – Herbalist David Hoffman notes that this valuable herb, our best vulnerary, "may be applied for any external bleeding or wound, bruising, or strains. The herb is also of benefit for slow-healing wounds and skin ulcers, and ideal for first-aid treatment of minor burns and scalds." The British Herbal Pharmacopoeia confirms that calendula is anti-inflammatory, useful for acute or chronic eczema, psoriasis and other inflammatory conditions.
Goldenseal – Goldenseal is yet another herb with strong antiseptic properties, adding to the effectiveness of the formula.
Administration: apply topically as needed
Contra-indications and Cautions: Consult a health care practitioner if symptoms worsen or persist. Avoid prolonged exposure to sunlight, ultraviolet light (UV) or UV therapy. Do not use if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Do not apply to the face of babies and young children. Do not take this product if you have an allergy to the Asteraceae family. Occasional allergic reactions have occurred in sensitive individuals; discontinue use if this occurs

I recently had a patient who used the Red Clover Plus Salve on a rash caused by herpes zoster (i.e. shingles). Within two days, the redness and inflammation of the rash was almost completely gone.
